One tube, called “Down’s Syndrome” (above), appears to have more than one brain, as well as other internal organs. Many jars need to be labeled; little is known about the people who had their brains.

Some of the problems are obvious, such as lissencephaly, or “smooth brain,” is a neurological disorder that often leads to premature death. Most brains appear normal but reveal inflammation or bleeding only once.
