Google and PBS have set up a media education program to deal with fraud

Over the past few years, Google has been trying to improve its reputation as a source of disinformation at the start several programs, especially a Google News Initiative (GNI). Now, the company has partnered with PBS Student Report Labs (SRL) and other media organizations on programs designed to promote media readings for students, teachers and individuals.

Google News Initiative and Student Report Labs is developing teaching tools aimed at educating young people on how to talk lies with older relatives and friends. “Through storytelling and collaboration with students, we will explore the needs of people from different backgrounds and ages, and how they can connect with each other to find answers,” says SRL founder Leah Clapman. Google also partnered with the News Literacy Project (NLP), a nonprofit in a nonprofit country, to provide television education to students, teachers and individuals. Google wants to bring its “Newsroom to Classroom” approach to more journalists and educators, to help NLP expand to areas of California, Colorado, Texas, Iowa and Nebraska, “areas most affected by a shortage of local news,” according to Google. .

Finally, the Google News Initiative is promoting the Spanish language in conjunction with the Poynter’s MediaWise project for students and adults.
