Renault is preparing two-thirds of its vehicles by 2025

Renault has been sending signals that it wants to supports its EV plans, and it is now clear how cruel the company would be. The French car manufacturer now expects 65% of its lines to be powered by 2025 – probably a combination of “green” cars in Europe, according to the company, and much better than the 30% demand. Its targets run a line of 10 new electric vehicles, inclusive rebirth 5, 4ever (modern Renault 4) and a Mégane EV.

Up to 90% of cars in Renault’s solid cage (including Alpine and Dacia) should be electric by 2030.

This method is highly compatible to make EVs more accessible. Renault is developing a new platform (CMF-BEV) that should reduce the cost by a third of the cost compared to Zoe via a rotating battery, the “right-handed” 100kW powertrain is for renting equipment from ordinary cars. Renault is also looking at feasible and affordable products, including nickel-manganese-cobalt batteries (which are 20% different from other alternatives) and an all-in-one powertrain that is almost half as old as the one that cost 30% less.

Renault also hopes to reduce the cost of recharging EV batteries by one-third by 2030, and re-energize its batteries as energy-saving devices.

You have to wait a while for some of these cars. Mégane arrives in 2022, and Alpine’s “dream garage” is expected to wait until 2024. However, it is clear that Renault wants to have a better reputation sooner than expected.

Whether Renault will lead the pack is another matter. For example, Volkswagen, expectations to become the world leader in electric vehicles by 2025 “soon,” and wants a European power line by 2030. There is no guarantee that they can achieve their goals, but Renault may also have to change its plans if possible be at the forefront of a rapidly changing market.
