An Indian man who went to court to complain that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is arrogant as the country’s leader over the COVID-19 vaccine has relinquished the “destructive” penalty during the trial.

“If a petitioner … is embarrassed to see a picture of his minister, he can look under the vaccination certificate,” the court ruled.
Myaliparampil’s lawyer told AFP he had appealed the decision.

The government has approved the use of Modi as a cover for the media campaign, and the health minister told a parliament in August to inform the public about the prevention of coronavirus.
