The resignation of Prime Minister Hamdok and public outrage have escalated into uncertainty in Sudan.
Sudan is also embroiled in political turmoil following the ouster of Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok.
This comes less than two months after he was reinstated under a military alliance.
The commander-in-chief of the army, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, has called for a speedy government and new ways to deal with the protests.
Democrats say the military should not enter the government and are planning more protests.
Political tensions between the two sides have hampered the country’s transition from authoritarian rule to democracy since ousting former leader Omar al-Bashir in 2019.
