3G Capital buys most shares in Hunter Douglas for $ 7.1bn

3G Capital, the world’s largest commercial finance company, has acquired most of Hunter Douglas, a Dutch manufacturer of windows and building materials, at a cost of $ 7.1bn.

For 3G, which focuses on the revenue of its Brazilian founders and their expensive friends, including the family of Colombian Santo Domingo and tennis legend Roger Federer, the alliance will end a long-term search for a new production platform.

The alliance represents the entry into the new segment of a New York-based retail company, best known for its fast food and fast food. It is also the first major partnership since joining Kraft and Heinz in 2015.
