The Witness accuses Ghislaine Maxwell of engaging in Epstein’s atrocities

The attorney pointed to a New York court in Ghislaine Maxwell accusing a British man of being present – and participating in it – while Jeffrey Epstein had repeatedly sexually assaulted her, since she was 14 years old.

The woman, whose name was withheld “Jane”, told judges Tuesday that the abuse continued for many years as a child and that Maxwell was present or participated in several times.

“It could happen at almost any time of the day, which would be every two weeks,” said Jane, who is now an actress, saying that the first encounter made her “scared”, embarrassed and numb.

The testimony came on the second day of the month Maxwell’s case for selling young girls for him and Epstein to have sex with. He has strongly denied the charges, which could land him in prison for more than 70 years.

Maxwell’s lawyers say he is made into a goat’s head for Epstein, a college graduate who achieved incredible wealth and friendships with world leaders, British Empire and tycoons in economics and technology before the collapse. He was arrested on a charge of sexual misconduct in July 2019 and hanged himself a month later.

The government claims that Maxwell, the daughter of Robert Maxwell, a British journalist, contributed to Epstein’s abuse because he was skilled at making young women at risk vulnerable. He did so among other things, critics say, in order to maintain the standard of living that Epstein offered.

Jane described Tuesday, in detail, how her relationship with Epstein and Maxwell changed from looking like an attacker.

He recalled meeting the two in the summer of 1994, at the age of 14 and going to a gym in Michigan where Epstein helped. Her father died of cancer nine months earlier, and the couple were forced to move into a bathroom.

“Actually, my family had run out of money,” he recalls.

A month after they first met, Epstein sent a driver to force Jane and her mother to his Palm Beach cafeteria, where he told them he liked to help young artists, he said. Jane began to visit regularly without her mother, spending time at the pool with Epstein and Maxwell. He paid for his singing lessons, he said, and took him shopping and watching movies.

At first, Jane saw Maxwell as an older sister. But the conversation grew slowly, he said, when Maxwell once asked him if he had a boyfriend and advised him: “’Remember, when you do this, you can steal from them because they are grandparents. . ‘”

The young woman did not even know what the term “grandfather” meant.

Epstein abused her alone for the first time, Jane said. Once, when he was 14, he and Maxwell were taken to his bedroom. “They moved me off the bed and stripped me of my clothes,” Jane recalls. “I was just standing there when he asked me to take off my top. Then the hands were all over. ” It sometimes affected Epstein, Maxwell and the other girls: “It could be magical,” she said.

Jane’s voice echoed in her testimony and she wept for a while, remembering the time when Maxwell had taken her to her room one night at Epstein’s Santa Fe farm after ordering. “I did not want to go and see him,” he said.

During cross-examination, Maxwell’s lawyer, Laura Menninger, questioned whether Jane’s family was as poor as she claimed to be, claiming that she lived for a time in a house near the golf course.

Maxwell’s lawyer also claimed that Jane had not spoken to the government for 20 years after she was abused, and that she appeared with two injured lawyers, Menninger said, because he had money. She was later given $ 5m from Epstein’s compensation fund, although she only received $ 2.9m of the money, Jane said, following a lawyer’s fee and other deductions.

Menninger is expected to continue his questions Wednesday.

Earlier on Tuesday, a former Epstein pilot, Lawrence Visoski, told judges he had not seen evidence of Epstein’s abuse in almost 30 years in his career. If he had been “inkling”, Visoski said, “he has never seen my daughters and I would say.”

The attorney general replied: “Did you allow your daughters to caress Jeffrey Epstein?”

“No,” he answered.
