Tobii says he is in talks to provide an eye tracking experience for Sony PlayStation VR2

Sony probably didn’t shut up PlayStation VR2 details though provide more details at CES 2022. Tobii says is in the discussion to provide eye contact Next-generation VR technology. It also said that the negotiations were “ongoing” and could not share any implications for the deal. The company is required to disclose negotiations in order to comply with EU market rules.

The company has already confirmed that the PlayStation VR2 will use optical tracking, but did not name a technical assistant or explain in detail how the feature could be used. The earphone jack will also use the camera’s “inside-out” camera to monitor the movement of the head and controller.

The revelation suggests that the PlayStation VR2 may not be available for a while. Game developers often need to strengthen the hardware hardware in advance, for the sake of creating and giving developers time to create game-ready hardware. If Sony has not yet chosen a provider for something as important as eye tracking, the implementation is still a long way off.
