AMC, one of the biggest of all, is embracing another powerful player: cryptocurrency. And its CEO is very pleased with it.

Adam Aron chief executive wrote proudly on Friday that the company has approved a large number of crypto currencies online. Starting with “drumroll, please,” Aron announced that bitcoin, ethereum, bitcoin currency, and litecoin were accepted at AMC, adding that video games also accept Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal.

“Great news! As promised, there are NOW ways to pay online at AMC, “he said. Aron wrote. “We proudly now accept: drumroll, please … Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin. Also Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal. Surprisingly, they already account for 14% of what we do online! Dogecoin then.”

He later rewrote his meme on a gold dogecoin.

Most importantly, Aron said cryptocurrency could be used on the Internet shopping, so it doesn’t look like you can use to buy anything in person right now. (Payment goes, on the Verge shows that PayPal seems to be the only way to pay with cryptocurrency right now). AMC has already allowed customers to do so buy gift cards and cryptocurrency.

Aron’s announcement is not surprising. A few years ago months, has been insisting on shares that the company was working to approve cryptocurrency for online payments. He also pulled out a page Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s playbook and made two Twitter votes to ask people if AMC should accept dogecoin and shiba inu. (Unfortunately, Musk liked Aron dogecoin’s research, which led to the departure of the CEO of AMC all stan).

Why does Aron have a cryptocurrency problem, you ask? It all comes from the company new shares, traders gathered together Reddit’s r / wallstreetbets via memes to help the company start moving earlier in the year (and sticking to Wall Street). In June, Aron announced that the owners owned more than 80% of the company and promised to provide them with free popcorn.

“We work for them. I work for them, ”Aron said in June. “In that sense, their interests and preferences are important to AMC, their ambitions and interests are important to me.”

One of these desires happens in cryptocurrency, according to Aron. And she is happy to push. That’s it simply stated than to do, however.
