Democrats later called on the House to remove Boebert from his committee position due to anti-Muslim discrimination.

“I have spoken to the speaker, and I am confident he will take action next week,” Omar told CNN’s State of the Union program.

There was no immediate comment from Pelosi or Boebert.

House Republican President Kevin McCarthy defended Boebert last week, saying he had apologized publicly and privately to Omar.

Omar did not say what Pelosi would do.

The U.S. House of Representatives last month voted to criticize Republican Congressman Paul Gosar for posting a video showing the assassination of incumbent Congresswoman Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez.

It also ousted Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene who was offered a job on the committee earlier this year for previous comments in support of Democrat violence.
