After six months of chaos, a fence around the US Capitol falls | Court Matters
Investigations are continuing after Trump’s supporters smashed windows, beat police and sent lawmakers to chase security.
The final stages of a security fence around the United States Capitol in Washington, DC, are being removed Friday, six months after former aides of former President Donald Trump he conquered the house in turmoil.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Democrat, announced on June 24 a special committee investigate the plot at the US Capitol, stating that “it is important that we seek the truth”. The new committee comes after the Senate Republicans banned a house bill that would set up a double committee to investigate the January 6 incident.
The perpetrators were trying to stop Congress from assuring President Joe Biden of victory in the election, which Trump claimed was due to widespread fraud. Several courts, state election officials and Trump administration officials have rejected his claims as baseless.
