COVID cases go up in America, following Europe, PAHO warns | Coronavirus Plague News

The Americans showed a 23 percent jump last week, though most cases were recorded in the US and Canada.

New coronavirus jumped 23 percent in the United States last week, the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) said, warning that the region could be on track to follow developments in Europe, where a number of countries are providing legal closures.

PAHO director Carissa Etienne says there are 880,583 new COVID-19 cases in the United States last week and more than 15,000 have died.

In most of the new cases, Etienne said it was driven by the prevalence of the disease in the United States and Canada. Even in Central America, he said he saw a 37 percent reduction in new infections.

“What is happening is going well,” Etienne told a weekly press conference. “Although COVID cases have dropped dramatically in the past few months, COVID distribution is still active across our region, so each time we reduce security, the virus grows,” he said.

Change has come as Europe – which seems to be the forerunner of the global epidemic of epidemics – is developing new ways of shutting down as several countries record the number of new diseases.

“Throughout the epidemic, Europe has been the front window for America,” Etienne said. “Most of the time, we’ve seen how European diseases appear here, in a few weeks.”

These threats are the highest in the US, which has already recorded more than 770,000 deaths from COVID – more than any other country in the world. Brazil is the second country with more than 600,000 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University.

As the US moves to very cold months with the holiday season, with many Americans expected to travel and hold large family gatherings, officials are concerned that the country will once again see the spread of new diseases, major hospitals.

Local journalists also said that air travel is expected to approach the epidemic before Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday.

According to valid data, coronavirus cases have risen 16 percent in the US compared to last week, and hospitals have risen by 5 percent. So far, mortality has dropped by 2.4 percent.

Etienne said every country in South America except Brazil, Suriname and Venezuela was showing an increasing number of cases, with Ecuador and Paraguay witnessing a major jump.

Currently in the Caribbean, the islands of Trinidad and Tobago are facing the highest risks of COVID-19 and hospitals say they are about to arrive.

Etienne said the growing number of cases in Europe and the Americas was largely due to the poor health of the people, the diversity of the Delta, and the “large and large population of uncircumcised people”.

Vaccination resistance is motivated by errors, as well limited access to Dosage in the poorest countries in the region, there has been a ban on immunization in the region.

Across Latin America and the Caribbean, 51 percent of the population received adequate vaccination, he said, adding that 19 countries did not reach 40 percent.

PAHO has set a target of vaccinating 70 percent of the population in the United States by mid-2022.
