The ‘Dragon Man monster found in China may be a new species of people | Science and Technology Issues

The shell, which has been preserved for nearly 140,000 years in northeastern China, represents new species of older people who are closer to us than Neanderthals – and could dramatically change our understanding of human evolution, scientists announced Friday.

He was a well-dressed man in his 50’s with deep eyes and steep slopes. Although his face was broad, he had weak, low cheeks that made him look more like modern humans than other members of the human race.

The research team linked the image to other Chinese excavations and called it the Homo longi or “Dragon Man,” meaning the area found.

The Harbin Crane was first discovered in 1933 in the city of the same name but is said to have been hiding in a well for 85 years for protection from the Japanese army.

He later dug and donated to Ji Qiang, a professor at Hebei GEO University, in 2018.

“In our analysis, the Harbin group is more closely associated with Homo sapiens than the Neanderthals – that is, Harbin shared our most recent ancestry more than the Neanderthals do,” fellow author Chris Stringer of the Natural History Museum, London told AFP.

‘Sister types’

This, he said, could make Dragon Man “our sisters” and the ancestor of the modern man more than the Neanderthals.

His findings were published in three papers in The Innovation. The skull began 146,000 years ago, and is located in the Middle Pleistocene.

“Although it exhibits an ancient human form, the Harbin hut contains a rich collection of artifacts and pomegranates that distinguish it from all other species previously called Homo,” said Ji, who led the study.

The name comes from Long Jiang, literally meaning “Dragon River.”

Dragon The man probably lives in a mountainous area as a small part.

“These people would be hunting, not eating,” Stringer said. “Since the winter in Harbin today, it seems he was struggling with a much worse cold than the Neanderthals.”

Given the place where the skull was found and the adult meaning, the group believes that Homo longi may have been transformed into a complex place and could have been scattered throughout Asia.

The researchers began studying cranes, identifying more than 600 models that fed computers that run millions of simulations to determine the history of evolution and relationships between different species.

“This shows that Harbin and other Chinese artifacts form a third line of people who will be present after Neanderthals and Homo sapiens,” Stringer said.

Other findings include a skull preserved in the Chinese province of Dali which is estimated to be 200,000 years old and was discovered in 1978, and the jaws have been found in Tibet since 160,000 years ago.

Stringer explained that his Chinese counterparts chose the name Homo longi, which they called “big name,” but said he would be just as happy to name the nation as Homo Daliensis, a former Dali crani.

Over 100,000 years ago, several ethnic groups have been present in Eurasia and Africa, including ours, the Neanderthals and Denisovans, a group of sisters recently found in the Neanderthals. “Dragon man” can be added to the list.

Another interpretation is that Homo longi and Denisovans are the same. The earliest so-called Denisovans include teeth and bones but not the whole skull, so scientists do not know what they look like.

But Neanderthals and Denisovans were much closer than Sapiens, while research shows that Homo longi was more similar to us than Neanderthals.

Long-term uncertainty may require future-type businesses to be assisted.
